Tam-Tam, or Chinese Gong

Parts:

Chinese gongs are made of high-tin bronze, hammered into a sifter shape. Its central resonating area can be either flat or convex. Gongs vary in diameter from about 20 to 40 inches.

Usage:

The gong has been effectively used in the orchestra to intensify the impression of fear and horror in melodramatic scenes .

Reason for selection:

We feel that with a Gong in the school, we can create an intense feeling in our music and it will be effective if we want to create a grand effect.
